The Nocellara del Belice PDO Olives are precious olives, with a full-bodied, firm and crunchy pulp that easily detaches from the core. Geata PDO olives have a typical taste tending towards bitterness with a light sapid flavor.

Our PDO Olives Line is composed of Nocellara del Belice Olives and Gaeta Olives.

The Nocellara del Belice PDO Olives originates in the Valle del Belice and extends into the neighboring municipalities of Castelvetrano in Trapani (Sicily), where the temples of Selinunte protect the crops for over 2600 years. The cultivation of the olives tree was in fact already appreciated by nobles and bourgeois. The Sicilian territory, in the middle of the Mediterranean, enjoys a particular microclimate that determines the optimal conditions for the cultivation of these olives.

In the Frutto d’Italia DOP line the Nocellara del Belice Olives are: black sweets, natural and green sweets.

The Nocellara del Belice DOP sweet black olive has a firm and fleshy pulp that detaches from the core, is delicate and full-bodied.
The Nocellara del Belice PDO natural olive presents an unmistakable spherical shape and is expertly seasoned with aromatic herbs to enhance its typically bitter taste.
The Nocellara del Belice DOP sweet green olive is characterized by a crisp, delicate and fruity pulp.

Gaeta Olive with Protected Designation of Origin is widespread in the regions of Lazio and Campania, in 44 municipalities in the provinces of Latina, Frosinone, Rome and Caserta.
Dell’ Oliva di Gaeta already speaks Virgil in the Aeneid but its wide spread is reached in 1400 thanks to the exportation from the Duchy of Gaeta throughout the Mediterranean. It is harvested at the beginning of spring at the height of maturity, it has a violet color, a fleshly flesh and a typical taste tending to bitterness with a light sapid hint. Today, this olive tree has the DOP mark, the certification of the Control from the Mipaaf but also the promotion, enhancement and protection of the product.

The Protected Designation of Origin – PDO is the mark of protection that the European Union attributes to foods with qualitative characteristics that naturally depend on the territory in which they were produced. The geographical environment consists of natural factors and human factors. In order toh ave a PDO product, the phases of production, processing and processing must take place in a defined geographical area. Who produces PDO products must comply with the strict production rules in the production regulations and compliance with these rules is guaranteed by specific control bodies.
The certification of conformity of the product is a guarantee, a protection of the consumer and of the producer.
